About The Hostel Merkaz
Hostel Merkaz is the kind of place that does not look like it will be up to scratch from the outside thanks to it being in a non-descript building but in all honesty once you get inside your opinion of it is going to change. In this instance, you really cannot judge a book by its cover.
The hostel itself is situated in the Jewish Quarter of the city, but that then means that there are so many of the different sights to check out pretty much outside of the front door. It also means that you can access the different forms of public transport to get around the city as they are all close by.
Each room is not only spotless but it also has its own flat screen television to help keep you entertained. There are also some apartment rooms available and families are made more than welcome. Furthermore, you are also allowed to take pets to this hostel and it does mean that Hostel Merkaz is slightly different from most of their competitors in and around the city.
The owners of the hostel will also provide you with a shuttle service to the airport but that does include a surcharge so you should keep that in mind at all times. You can also have full use of their Wi-Fi during your stay with this being absolutely free to all guests and it just allows you to keep track of home.
In addition, there is no smoking throughout the building so you are best to keep that in mind although there is a designated smoking area in accordance with most of the other hostels in the city.
You will find that the staff that work here are not only very friendly in their dealings with you but that they also have a superb understanding of the city itself and can help you out with the best places to visit during your stay there. However, there is no 24 hour reception desk available but staff are still going to be on hand most of the time to help you out.
Overall, Hostel Merkaz is bright, comfortable, and has a super friendly atmosphere which is not what you would generally expect when you turn up outside of the building. The staff are very helpful and the beds are comfortable and quiet with the hostel itself not being too big so you feel as if you are sleeping in too big of a crowd.
